Woman Suing After Allegedly Contracting Herpes From Rihanna’s Lipstick

Rihanna’s lips may be the source of many a man’s fantasy, but her lipstick has one woman pouting. According to the NY Daily News, a Harlem woman has filed a lawsuit claiming that she contracted the herpes virus after applying a MAC lipstick endorsed by Rihanna.

Starkeema Greenidge, 28, alleges she contracted the virus when a representative of MAC Cosmetics applied a used tube of “RiRi Woo” to her soup coolers outside of Rihanna’s show at The Barclays Center on May 7th.

“I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money,” Greenidge, a waitress, told the Daily News. Requesting unspecified damages, Greenidge claims the herpes has caused her “mental anguish and emotional distress.”

Police: Maine man staged girl's kidnap to later 'be the hero,' but killed her

By Clarke Canfield and David Sharp, The Associated Press BANGOR, Maine

-- A man used a fake Facebook account to lure a teenage girl out of her house in an attempt to stage her kidnapping and rescue so he could look like a hero but ended up killing her, a state police affidavit released Wednesday said.

Kyle Dube was indicted Wednesday on charges of murder and kidnapping in the death of 15-year-old Nichole Cable, whose body was found in a wooded area of Old Town this month a week after she went missing. In an affidavit released after Dube was indicted, Detective Thomas Pickering outlined the scenario leading to the high school sophomore's death. He wrote that Dube told his brother that he used Facebook to trick her into going out of her house in Glenburn, not far from Old Town, while he waited in the woods wearing a ski mask. When Nichole came along, the 20-year-old Dube jumped out and snatched her, duct-taped her and put her in the back of his father's pickup truck, the affidavit said. Dube later discovered that she was dead, so he dumped her body and covered it with branches, it said.

The affidavit doesn't go into details about how Nichole was duct-taped, and the cause of her death is still being determined by the medical examiner's office. Dube told his brother that he "intended to kidnap Nichole and hide her; that he would later find her and be the hero," Pickering wrote.

Dube's attorney, Stephen Smith, did not immediately return a phone call left at his office Wednesday evening. He had argued for the affidavit to be withheld, citing threats against Dube in jail, concerns about whether he could get a fair trial and fears for the privacy of his relatives.

Earlier Wednesday, Justice William Anderson had denied a motion by The Associated Press and the Portland Press Herald to unseal the affidavit on First Amendment grounds. The judge's original order had sealed the affidavit only until Dube was indicted. When the indictment was handed down, the affidavit was made public.

Nichole was reported missing on May 13 by her mother, who said she had left the night before to meet a friend at the end of the driveway but hadn't returned. Police interviewed a friend of Nichole's named Bryan Butterfield, who said somebody had set up a fake Facebook account in his name and he suspected Dube. Butterfield told detectives that Dube wanted to have sex with Nichole but that she had rejected his advances, the affidavit said.

Investigators determined that Nichole had frequent contact with the fake Butterfield on Facebook and that the person posing as Butterfield repeatedly requested to meet with her before she agreed to meet with him at the end of her road to get some marijuana the night she went missing, the affidavit said. Police asked Facebook officials to produce records to identify the owner of the fake Butterfield account, which was traced to Dube and his parents' home in Orono.

When a detective interviewed Dube's girlfriend, Sarah Mersinger, she reported that Dube told her where he left Nichole's body. Dube's brother, Dustin Dube, then told police what he knew.

Dozens of law enforcement officers, using aircraft and dogs, and hundreds of civilian volunteers had spent days searching for Nichole, whose body was found on the night of May 20. About 300 people turned out for her funeral. Canfield reported from Portland, Maine.

HOT PLOT

At a downtown bail bond company, a 46-year-old man said he was eating his lunch in the office when the janitor freaked out because he was using the janitor's hot sauce. "I'm going to come over there and beat the crap out of you!" the janitor screamed. "Stand up and fight me!" The man refused to fight so the janitor rushed at him with a broomstick and slammed it into the man's left elbow. The man was bloody from the blow.

Cops talked with the janitor, 49, who said the other guy stole his hot sauce from the company fridge and that upset him. He said the man ordered him to walk into the cleaning closet and he would get some more hot sauce. Also, the janitor claimed the other guy hit him with a broomstick. When the cop said that his story didn't line up with what witnesses said, the janitor claimed everyone at the bond company is out to get him and they framed him.

SOCK IT TO YOU

Near Atlantic Station, a 30-year-old woman said that a young couple knocked on the door of her apartment on 15th Street. "They said they were with Georgia State University and looking for donations to buy books for St. Jude's," the woman recalled. The woman didn't have any cash. That's OK, the couple said, explaining that they only take checks. The man asked her to write a $2 check made out to Georgia State. The woman got her checkbook and wrote the couple a $2 check. According to the police report, the couple had another request: They said they're on a scavenger hunt and asked the woman for a "Q-tip and a cotton ball." Repeatedly. Eventually, the woman agreed, went to her bathroom, rummaged around, and found a Q-tip and cotton ball. When she returned, the couple said the last thing on their list was a black sock and wanted to know if she could round one up. The woman retrieved a black sock as well. Then the young couple left — with the $2 check, Q-tip, cotton ball, and a single black sock.

The next day, the woman's bank called stating that a man tried to cash a fraudulent check from her account. The woman looked at her checkbook and realized the couple must have stolen a few blank checks while she was walking around her apartment looking for their scavenger hunt items.

Police arrested the man trying to cash a $380 check at a Peachtree Center bank. At first, the man said he got the check by selling books. The cop asked: "What books do you sell?" He simply replied, "I don't sell books." He went to jail on forgery charges.

DIVINE PROTECTION

A deacon walked into his church and noticed a very lumpy rug near the front door. He lifted up the rug, found a brown AK-47 rifle — and immediately called police. "I checked the weapon to make sure it was safe and no rounds were with the weapon," an officer wrote. A computer check revealed the AK-47 was NOT stolen ... but it's unclear who owns it. The weapon is worth about $500.

Flaky father: Around 8:30 a.m., a woman found a semi-automatic gun in her neighborhood about a half-mile from Bolton Elementary School. Because of the high volume of children walking to school, she picked up the gun to take it home and call police. While walking home, she spotted an Atlanta Police patrol car and gave the gun to the officer. "I retrieved the weapon from her and did one last patrol round through the neighborhood to look for suspicious activity before heading to police precinct to turn the weapon in," the officer wrote. While the officer was driving around, a 42-year-old man flagged him down. He said earlier, he was in a hurry to get his children to school that morning, so he put his pistol on the roof of his car while strapping in his kids. In his haste, he drove away, leaving his pistol on the car roof. The man said he retraced his path, looking for his gun, but it was gone — so he called 911. The officer confirmed the man's story — and asked him to describe the weapon and serial number. It all checked out, so the cop gave him back his gun. "No charges were made due to [the man's] diligence in attempting to recover his weapon and then immediately reporting it to police," the officer wrote. That's right, no charges for leaving a gun on the roof of your car, while driving your kids to school.

BIG MOMMA HOUSE lmao PLEASE READ & SHARE

In Mozely Park neighborhood, a 37-year-old woman said she was asleep on the couch when her mother woke her up by hitting her with "a bundle of sticks." (It was about 5 a.m. on a recent Tuesday.) Police arrived to deal with the mother-daughter spat. The mother said she was pissed at her daughter and wanted her to move out, pronto, so she went outside, gathered a bundle of sticks, and began striking her daughter. An officer wrote, "I observed that there were several sticks lying about the room." So the officer arrested the 53-year-old mother, who apparently is a supersized gal. The officer used "two pairs of handcuffs to accommodate her girth," he noted. "Despite this, she complained of being short of breath and requested an ambulance." Medics declared that the mother was in fact breathing normally — she was just fine. The daughter said being struck with sticks hurt, but she had no lasting injuries. Big momma went to jail.
