UPLAND, CA- Update on the story of a live-in nanny that refused to leave a family's home in Upland, California. The story now has taken on a new twist.
The situation has become a legal nightmare.
Diane Stretton moved into the home of Ralph and Marcela Bracamonte back in March as a nanny, after the family found her on Craigslist.
She only helped out for about a couple of months before she stopped working, complaining of health problems.
Stretton refused to leave, and spent most of the time in her bedroom at the house.
The Bracamontes served her legal papers, but the judge ruled in the nanny's favor because the family did the paper work wrong.
The family posted a legal notice on the nanny's door.
Stretton had until Saturday respond but the family expects the eviction process to take a while.
In the meantime the Bracamontes are now telling reporters that Stretton left on Thursday morning, and hasn’t been seen since. But her belongings are still inside the home. One report had Stretton showing up at a local police station saying she was being followed.
The Bracamontes are waiting to see what she does next.
Stay tuned.
