DAYTON, Texas—Dayton police arrested a 17-year-old boy after an 18-year-old woman was kidnapped and held at knife point.
Larry Bissell has been charged with aggravated kidnapping.
The victim only wanted to tell us her first name. Bre said she had just got off of work and was headed home. She stopped off at the Walgreens in Dayton to buy some makeup. Minutes later, she said the teen approached her asking her for a ride.
”It was really emotional, I was crying the whole time, shaking. I had a lot of adrenaline in me. I was here unlocking my car. He had walked up behind me. He pulled out his knife and said get in the truck now or I’m going to slit your throat,” said Bre.

Bre said he was desperate for a ride to Jasper. She complied and did everything he asked her to do.
”I was listening to him, I was really scared, I was crying. I wanted to get pulled over so I was trying to think… so I’ll speed,” said Bre.

But that didn’t work. No officers were in the area. Bre tried to distract him during their 6 mile ride from Dayton to Liberty.
”He pulled out his knife again and said, ‘I said slow down.’ So I had to drive 5 miles under. I started talking to him about God. I asked him about his belief and started conversing about that,” said Bre.
Then she said she needed a smoke. She stopped at Miller’s Shell gas station on Highway 90. Bre said she is not a smoker.
”When I walked in, got the cigarettes and mouthed to the clerk to call 911. And then I asked the clerk where the bathroom was. She told me and I went straight in the bathroom until help came,” said Bre.
Minutes later, police showed up and arrested the 17-year-old, still with a knife in his hand.
”I just want to teach other people, if something like that happens to try to stay as calm as possible, it’s hard. You need to stay calm. You need to really think, don’t go where they tell you to go,” said Bre.

Bre said she does not want any sympathy. She just wants others to be aware.
Bissell was being held on a $500,000 bond.
